Tocqueville Society Dinner
United Way of the Coastal Empire honors the Alexis de Tocqueville Society for its resolute dedication and extraordinary support. Tocqueville Society is a remarkable group of individuals who is leading the way to a better community by investing $10,000 and above to the United Way. Recyclable Collection/Drop-off
Presented by Savannah College of Art and Design, held at Forsyth Park. The SCAD women's lacrosse team sponsors a recyclable collection/drop-off booth at the south end of the park. Bring any household plastics grade one and two, aluminum cans, newspaper, cardboard and green, brown or clear glass. The Savannah Development and Renewal Authority will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Savannah Bee Company Honey House. Internationally admired for its rare honeys, natural body care and other hive products, the company's mission is to provide pure, rare, delectable honey and luxurious hive products while educating people about the wonders of the honeybee. Fort Pulaski Annual Candlelantern Weekend
For over fifteen years, Fort Pulaski has delighted history buffs and Christmas enthusiasts alike during the annual Candlelantern Weekend-a two-day event re-enacting the Confederate Nog Party of 1861. Over one hundred staff and volunteers dress in period costumes, taking visitors back in time when Confederate soldiers occupied Fort Pulaski. Even if you've toured the fort, experiencing it at night, illuminated by lanterns and garnished in period decorations, is an entirely new experience. The festivities also include a feast of music, storytelling and cider. Tickets are $5.
