Fort Pulaski Annual Candlelantern Weekend
For over fifteen years, Fort Pulaski has delighted history buffs and Christmas enthusiasts alike during the annual Candlelantern Weekend-a two-day event re-enacting the Confederate Nog Party of 1861. Over one hundred staff and volunteers dress in period costumes, taking visitors back in time when Confederate soldiers occupied Fort Pulaski. Even if you've toured the fort, experiencing it at night, illuminated by lanterns and garnished in period decorations, is an entirely new experience. The festivities also include a feast of music, storytelling and cider. Tickets are $5.
Reservations are required and are taken only until December 5. For more information or to make reservations call 912.786.5787 or visit www.nps.gov/fopu
