*About the Speaker:* This month's guest speaker is Doug Winters. He is a technology development and management professional who has successfully completed projects for a wide variety of governmental, public and private sector clients. He has served in multiple roles for clients such as Kodak, Gulfstream, Disney, Coca-Cola, just to name a few. As a published contributor to the project management community, Mr. Winters can be found teaching beginning and advanced scheduling with Microsoft Project. One of his real passions is preparing the managers of tomorrow by teaching Project Management at AASU.
*About the Presentation:* In his presentation, Mr. Winters will explain and discuss concrete project management techniques to create a workable schedule with the goal of avoiding the worst case scenario â initiating the emergency mode. Timelines can be created and then managed taking advantage of early warning signs of trouble. The inevitable "change" that happens to a project can be harnessed to work for us rather than against us. Techniques such as "critical path analysis" can be easily deployed to take back control of our schedule.
*This series is open to all entrepreneurs, small businesses and interested parties, so feel free to forward this announcement and invite your friends and colleagues.*
NOAA PROPOSES RULE PROHIBITING SPEARFISHING GEAR
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is proposing a rule to prohibit all spearfishing gear in Grayâs Reef National Marine Sanctuary. NOAA is soliciting public comment until May 4, 2009. A public meeting will be held on March 19, to receive comments on the proposed rule and the draft environmental assessment that accompanies the proposed rule. The meeting will be held at the John W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center, J.F. Gregory Park, Richmond Hill, Georgia, from 6-8:00 p.m.
Comments may also be submitted electronically to www.regulations.gov
(search for docket # NOAAâNOSâ2009â0002), or by mail to Grayâs Reef National Marine Sanctuary, 10 Ocean Science Circle, Savannah, GA 31411, Attn: Dr. George Sedberry, Superintendent.
For copies of the proposed rule, draft environmental assessment and the Federal Register notice, go to http://graysreef.noaa.gov, or contact Resource Protection Coordinator Becky Shortland (912-598-2381; becky.shortland@noaa.gov).
Spearfishing is often used to selectively target larger fish, and can significantly reduce abundance and alter the relative size structure of target species toward smaller fish. The proposed prohibition would provide protection to the fishes and natural live-bottom community for which the sanctuary was designated. The proposal also would facilitate enforcement of an existing prohibition against the use of powerheads within the sanctuary.

Artists should bring their own paint, caps, etc. for their artwork (a limited supply of spray paint will be provided by the gallery). Artists should also bring their own safety gear.

1st & 3rd Thursday Honey House Buzz
1st & 3rd Thursday Honey House Buzz!
(Pysanky) Ukranian Easter Egg Decorating
It is again time for Savannah Bee Company Honey House to celebrate our third Thursday of now, this fine month! Easter is approaching quickly and tradition tells us that the egg plays an integral role in our celebrations. We are taking this Thursday to highlight an ancient craft, the Ukranian art of Pysanky. This time-honored tradition has been passed down for hundreds of years and cannot be performed without beeswax, and hence, the honeybee.
Join one of Savannah Bee Company's own, Mercedes Lewis, as she takes us through this intricate and unbelievably beautiful process. Come learn an art that has been passed down for thousands of years.
This will be a hands on workshop allowing you to leave with not only knowledge and a new skill, but a unique creation crafted by your own hands.
Being an art workshop, those who attend should wear clothing that they feel confident won't be shamed by color splashes and any other mishaps. We also ask you to R.S.V.P. so that we can accommodate for space and supplies.
As always we will supply a bit to eat and drink, and it should be as festive as ever. We hope to see you at the Honey House.
When: Thursday, March 19th
Where: Savannah Bee Company Honey House
104 West Broughton Street
Time: 7:00 PM
RSVP: clay@savannahbee.com or 912.233.7873 (BEE.PURE)
