The Echo Square

I was recently asked to identify "The Echo Square" by a reader of this on-line magazine and from my research this is what I learned:

The "Echo Square" is actually located in front of Baskets, Bears & T's on River St. On the street there is a circle shape and an X letter in the middle. If you stand on the X facing the Savannah River and say something you will be stunned because your voice will echo back as if you were listening to surround sound.

Some experts state that the reason for the echo has to do with the formation of the bricks in the square and the sound barriers from the buildings and the water.

For me I like to think it was haunted!

Next time you venture to Savannah, go to River Street and find the Echo Square.
